Woodford House old girls from this dis«-;C5 an J from many parts of che Nor tb Islarid spent a very happy aim during the last weeb-end at their annuaf re-union. A most interesting programine had been arranged3 commencing on Friday morning with a Yankee tennis tournament at "Woodford House for the old girls. This was organised by Miss Margaret Glenny and proved most enjoyable. The following morning a tearn of old girls, Mr3 J. Herrick and the Misses E. Plummer, D. Hunter, Zoe Fryerj- M. Thornton and S. White played the school team for a cliallenge cup presented by ]\lrs Neil Cajnpbell, the association president} and Mrs It. Stinderland, the school team winning by one match. For the non-tennis players a motor drive had been arranged in which places of 'interest to old Woodford girls were.visited. -This proved most delightful and about 25 old girls were present. A visit was paid to the old school in Hastings which is now the home of Mrg E. Ballantyne, who very kindly allowed the visitors to see aU- through her home • and also to wander round the garden. Great amusenient was caused by the .many stories of escapades In their girlhood days which recollected by those present. . ■ A visit was paid to Waikoko gardens as it Was in the lake here that many of the old Woodford- girls learned to swim in the days when.Mr Willjam Nelson Iived there. Sports, were also held. at hisahome. Another home which the girls; visited for sports was that of Mr T. Crosse, Woodlands, "Riverslea, and those takmg parfc in the drive. motore.d past the old home-on their way to Tauroa, the home of Mr and Mrs Mason Chambers, which was also known by. the girls in their school days. Mr and Mrs* Chambers weh comed the visitors and sho.wed thein over their beautiful gardens. Later al'ternoon tea was enjpyed by everyone. On Friday evening a reception was held at the Hawke's Bay Women"s service Club to meet Miss Hodge, the thunder and iirst headmistress of Woodford House. , A very pleasant evening was spcnfc and Miss Hodge was presented with, a lovely posy of flowerg in . shades of red. A delicious supper was enjoyed before the guests departed. On Saturday morning an executive committee mecting was held at the Hawke's Bay Farmers, and in the after noon the a,pnuai general meeting was held in the Woodford House Assembly Hall. Mrs Neil Campbell presided at this meeting and also present was tbe secretary; Miss Ruth Small, and over 70 old girls. Ihe weather was ideal for the garden party which followed the meeting, and the school gardens were a blaze oi vivid.eoiours and were very much admired by all tbe visitors. Miss Hoby, the acting-prmcipal, was: present to meet her guests. During the gerden party MisS Hodge presented the tennis cup to the school team. Quite a number of jolly dinner parties were arranged on Saturday evening and theso preceded a very bright informal dance which was held at the aerodrome club house, Bridge Pa. The dancd was organised by Mrs J. Chambers and was most successful. Ihe week-eiid concluded on Sunday, when the Holy Communiou Service waa held in the school chapel. The old girJs who were jirescnted breakfasted with Miss Hoby and later attended matins in the chapel, the service being cont

Hope Gibbons (secretary), Dr. Sylvia Chapman, Miss Uoulson; from the Wairarapa branch, Miss Barbara Barton (secretary), from the Gisborne branch, Miss Cushla FitzGerald and Miss Marjorie Thornton; from Taihape, Mrs G. Chrystall; from Levin, Miss Nancy Twistleton; from Otago, Mrs Stephen Gillingham.
