Hastings ;CIub Function Tbe Hastings Tennis Club ofiieially opened tbe 1937-38 season on Saturday afternoon. Conditions were ideal, there being glorious sunshine. Tbe courfcs were in good order and between 90 and 100 members and vieiting players from kindred elubs in Hastings and Napier partieipated in a yankee tournament, whieh was won by Miss M. Glpnny and R. D. Sharpe. The opening ceremcny was peri'onned by Mr E D. Brown, president of the club and also of the Ilawke's Bay Lawn Tennis Association, who after wisbing tbe club a most successful and enjoyable season, said that this year tbe association propose.d to foster tbe game
