BUTTER MARKET FIRM
New Zealand at 136/SLOW DEMAND FOR CHEESE (Received 23, 8.45 a.m.) LOHDON, Oct. 22. The butter market is firm after a slight improvement in prices duriug the week, Danish, New Zealand aud Australian rising by l/- Per cwt. Quotations are: Danish, 146/-: New Zealand and Australian choicest salted and nnder, 136/-. The cheese market is slow at 6d per cwt. lower than a week ago. New Zeland white is quoted at 69/6 to 70/and coloured at 69/-. No Australian is offering. The egg market is firm, seventeens at 12/9, sixteens 12/6 to 12/9, and fifteens 12/-. The latest quotation of 136/- per cwt. is equal to af^ut 16.34d per lb. f.o.b., New Zealand ports, or over 3d above the guaranteed level of I3.25d per lb., f.o.b.
