STRENUOUS TOUR

New Zealand Cricketers in England DUNNING RETURNS

(By Telegraph-

AUCKLAND, Last Night. "The tour of the New Zealand cricketers was very streiiuous," said A. J. Dunning (Otago) who returned by the ltangitiki. He said that the English summer had been the frnest experienced for many years. The only timo they had met wet weather was when they were playing important matches in London and Manchester. The outstanding features of the tour, said Dunning, were the success of Cowie, the Auckland fast bowler, and the great performances of Donnelly, the eolt of the teaui. He considered that Cowie was as good as any of the English fast bowlers. The dry season did not suit the New Zealand left-handers, notably Vivian and Gallichan. The conditions suited Moloney's slow spin bowling. All through the tour the team pulled well together. Referring to the New Zealanders now living in England, Dunning said that James was keeping wickets as well as anybody. Dempster had a good first half of the season. Badcock and Merritt were doing well in Lancashire League, and Blunt was playing in Sir Julien Cahn's team.
