Some Stocks Finish the Day with Gains MARKET IS STILL UNEASY

(Received 21, 8.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 20. Just before closing, the market de- : monstrated a complete reversal, the whole list recovering for net gains. Some issues Tegistered as much as a four-point Tise on the day's proceedmgs. A total of 7290 blocks of shares were traded. The recovery is aseribed to large pur* chases by trust funds taking advantage of the barfains. Despite the recovery, Uie market remained uneasy. Tke situation elsewhere did not evilence any great recovery. The kerb ixchange showed only 79 of 737 issues traded making gains at the end of the I day Ohicago, San Francisco, Montreal and Toronto reported that all indices wero the lowest sinco 1935. Bonds on the New York exchanges were even weaker than stocks, every classification lo3ing ground.
