FAT CATTLE DISAPPOINT
"For a province like Hawke's Bay the display of fat cattle was only fair with the entries disappointing," said hJr. J. Webb, of Taihape, the judge, who Avas not at all impressed with tbe section. Tlie steers geuerally were not linisbed, ihe best entry being a good pair of crossbred eliillers whicb Mr. Webb considered Avas a good entry. The season, be said, had, been inost dif&cult for most of tbe raisers of cattle in Hawke's Bay and this, no doubt, acco-unted for the standard of quality being below expectations.
