HEREFORDS SHOW QUALITY THROUGHOUT
The high standard of quality displayed in the Hereford classes was fUvourably commented upon by Mr J. M. James, of Wangaehu, Masterton, who j'udged this section. The display, especially in the yearljng* class, was the best he had seen in tliis breed for- a long timo and Mr James regarded it as being the finest entered at a Hawke's Bay show for soveral years. Mr James stated that considerable improvement was shown in the manner in which the cattle were brought out. The manner in which the entries wero ied also showed improvement and, in his opinion, the whole section was a credit to the breeders concerned. The important part taken in the display by the Polled Herefords was mentioned by Mr James. These he considered showed a distinct advance in quality from the displays of recent years and from this exhibition he felt increasingly conMent for the future of this breed in the beef cattle industry of the Dominion. ' ' They were really excellent, and the quality left little to be desired," added Mr James.
