SOUTHDOWNS WERE UP TO STANDARD
The open Southdown dlass was np to the usual standard of quality but according lo Mr E. M. Perry, of Masterton, who judged the classes, outstanding entries were lacking. Competition throughout was disappointing. The strongest class was that of the shorn ewe hoggets which looked well, being in good order. The same did noi apply to the shorn ram hoggets which were disappointing. The ehampion ewe he regarded as being a really good exhibit, being superior in quality to the ehampion ram.
