Australian Manufacturers Perturbed INSISTENT REPORTS

(Eeceived 20, 11.50 a.m.) SYBNEY, Oct. 20. The Daily Telegraph says reports that the Ne\v Zealand Government intends to raise the tariffs ag'ainst Aus-tralian-manufactured goods are insistent. These reports are added to hy the president of the New Zealand Manufacturers Pederation, Mr. Henry, who, on arrival from New Zealand yesterday, said the New Zealand Government would probably take action after the Australian Federal elections. Mr. Henry added that tlie Government Js plans would be in tlie interests of New Zealand and British manufacturers, "as Britain was our best export customer for primary products. At present New Zealand imports from Australia are four times inore tlian she exports to this country. The Government has taken heed of the manufacturers' protests against the flood of Australian goods, and is determined to act. ' '
