BOOSTING EAST COAST
Fostering Co-operation Among Businessmen GISBORNE SUGGESTI0N With a view to creating a harmonious and co-operative spirit in the commepcial community of the East Coast districts, the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce has issued an invitation to members of the various kindred Chambers throughout the East Coast to attend its monthly meetings, should they be visiting Gisborne. "My Chamber is of the opinion that an interchange of visits from members of respective Chambers on the East Coast from time to time would make for beneficial results," wrote the secretary of the Gisborne Chamber in his circular, which was before the Hastings Chamber last evening. "A cordial invitation is extended to any of your members who may be in Gisborne and you may rest assured that such members will be made very welcome." The chairman, Mr Hugh W. C. Baird, said that he thought members would appreciate the invitation, and he considered that the Chamber should reeiprocate. "It is quite a good idea," he said. "It certainly should be kept in roind and if Gisborne, Wairoa. Napier and Hastings Chambers could meet and agree" upon various woTks to push on the East Coast* I am sure that it would be very beneficial to the district. " It was decided to reply thanking Gisborne for the invitation and expressing appreciatiqn of the proposal; and at the same time reciprocating as far as Gisborne members visiting Hastings are concerned.
