NAPIER TRAFFIC OFFENCES

A small number of trailic cases were heard by Mr. J. Miller, S.M., in the Napier Magistrate 's Court yesterday morning. Fines were imposed in all cases. James Smith a launch driver, of Port Ahuriri, was fined 15/-, with 10/costs, upon the information of the Port Ahuriri police, for riding a motorcycle on the foothpath in Bridge street. Two Palmerston North motor-eyc-lists, Walter Crowe and Eeginald Thomas Jones, were each fined 15/-, with 10/- costs, for operating their machines without warrants of fitness. In addition, Crowo was fined a similar amount for driving without a licence, the Transport Department inspector, Mr. J. H. E. Semple, stating that he had been informed by Crowe that he had never held a licence, although he appeared capable.
