Dog Trials Sub-Committee

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. At a meeting of the Waipukurau A. and P. Association's dog trials subcommittee, therd were present Messrs E. MacLennau, N. Tilley, W. J. Craig, j." W. McGaveston, W. Cuthbertson, and the acting-secretary. An opology Was received from Mr Jas. Butler. Mr E. MacLennau. was unanimously re-elected chairman for the 1988 season. It was decided that Classes 1 and ^ should be the same as last year. . It was also decided to apply f°r tbe North Island show yarding chompionship medal, and if sqecessful it was resolved that the three dogs gaining the highest points will run off for the medal, otherwise medal to be awarded to the competitor gaining highest points in main competition.

The following officials were appomt* ed: Judge, Mr J. Gillespie; field seCretary, Mr N. Tilley; assistant field secretary, Mr J. W. McGaveston; timekeeper, Mr C. L Champion; flag steward Mr Jas. Butler; releasing stewards, Messrs Douglas Johnston e, J. IMcDonald and E. Williams; course stewards, Messrs J. Johnstone and J . Chalmers , assistant stewards, Messrs J. Turley, W. E. Nelmes, W. J. Craig, A. Smith, W. Spotswood and Pat Peacoclt; junior stewards, Messrs F Eox, W. Craig and M. Tilley. Mr J. Butler 's special, of £1, was allocated to maiden competitor gaining most points with one or more maiden dogs. The allocation of other donations was left in abeyance. On the motion of Mr W. Cuthbertson, it was agreed that the matter of obtaining sheep be left in the liands of Messrs E. MacLennan and J. W. McGaveston. It was resolved that Mr E. Williams be eleeted as a member of the cornmittee. It was also resolved that a notice to competitors be printed at the head of programmes, asking them to be on the ground punctually at 8 a.m.
