Members' Day at Takapau
Th« monthly meeting of the Takapau Women 's Institute, presided. over by Miss Gamble, was held in the Takapau Public Hall, the meeting took the form of a members' day and Miss Gamble presided, with Mrs. Yesty acting as secretary. An egg competition j>ifv vided 360 eggs for the Hawke's Bay Cildren's Homes. Prizes were donated by Miss Gamble and Mrs Aslcew, and won by Mrs E. T. Stubbs and Mrs W. Jackson, sen. A pair of towels donated by Mrs Kilford and a vase donated by Mrs E. H. Thomson for a competition in aid of the leper fund were won Tespectively by Mrs A. Jackson and Miss Dorotby Keegan. A bring-and-buy in aid of the leper fund, with the competition, brought in £2 3/6. Mrs Oldershaw gave a demonstration on making trinket boxes. Songs were given by Mrs Keenan and Mrs Bjorngaard. A report of the federation meeting was read by the president, Mrs W. B. White The hostesses were Mesdames Harwarcl, Keenan, McErlick and Little.
