Major-General Freyberg

DOMINION V.C.-H0LDER

LONDON, Oct. 15. The London Gazette announces that Major-General B. C. Freyberg, the Kew Zealand V.C., has been placed on retired pay. It is understood that indisposition due to extraordinary war-time strain is tlie reason for his retirement. Since his promotion to a major-generalcy he bas been unable to pursue an active military life.
