CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Doctrine of Atonement was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist} on day, October 17. The Golden Text was I. Corin. 1 :9, "God is Faitbful, by whom ye were called unto the fellow.ship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord." Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon were the following from the Bible, "For if, when we were enemies, we jvere reconciled to God by the death of his Son. much more being reconciled we shall be saved by his life." (Romans 5 :10), Also the following passages from the Christian Science Text Book, ' 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy, "Tbe efficacy of Jesus' spiritual offering is infinitely greater than can be expressed by our sense of human blood. The material blood of Jesus was no more efficacious to cleanse from sin when it was upon "the accursed tree," than when it was flowing in his veins as he went daily about his Father's business. His true flesh and blood were his Life ; and they truly eat his flesh and drink his blood, who partake of that divine Life." (p, 25).
