WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
KOTEMAORI BIRTHDAY The Kotemaori fiistitute' celebrated its' third birthday on Saturday niglit when a 'jolly evening was spent in gameB, competitions, musical items and dances. Owing to the inclemency of the weather a number of people were prevented from attending, but those who braved the elements spent an enjoyable evening. A play staged by five of the members "Cousin Lucy1' was most humorous. Songs were rendered .by Mrs. T. M. Millar and MisB 0. Monteath, and a saies table did good business. A. daanty sup'per was served, but the centre of attraction was a beauti-fully-made and iced birthday cake which held pride of place. Miss Monteath, as past president of the Kotemaori Institute, was asked to cut the cake. Mrs, C. Harris, the president, thanked all who had helped to mahe the evening a success, after which tho National Anthem was sung.
