VANDALISM IN PARKS
S ^ ■ Tulips Removed; Frame of Seat Taken Further instances of van-dalism in the parks and reserves have been reported to the Hastings Borough Council. During the week-.end over a dozen of the choicest blooms in the bed of tulips in front of the clock tower were removedj while at Windsor Park a more daring act was perpetrated, someone removing the wooden frame off one of the concrete- seats. Despite repeated appeals by the Mayor, Mr G. A. Maddison, and the vigilance of the police and others, there appears . to be a section of the community that loses no opportunity to create damage to the borough reserves. Their actions cannot be too strongly condemned, and the council has passed a resolution that the first culprit fonnd will be prosecuted. It is hoped, however^ tnat law-abiding and appreciati ve members of the eomrnunity will cooperate with the council in its efforts to stamp out the vandalism that is rife in Hastings.
