USE OF AMBULANCE
Not To Go Outside Hospital District "I think we are opening the door too wide," said Mr. Lassen, chairman of the Hawke's Bay Hospital Board yesterday, when a request was made by the Public Works Employees' Medical Association for a flat rate of 10/to be charged for the use of the ambulance, irrespective of distance. On the suggestion of Dr. H. M. Wilson, it was agreed that the ambulance should not go out of the hospital district unless advised by the medical superintendent. • In connection with the ambulance service at Hastings, the board adopted the following recommendations by the Hastings Memorial Hospital honorary staff: — That in eertain circumstances a nuTse should be in attendance on thepatient during transport from the patient-s home to the hospital; that the ambulance driver should hold the first-aid certificate of the St. John Ambulance Association; that the ambulance should be equipped with first-aid equipment.
