Mr de Gielgud Recalled , to England Cancellation of his projected visits to Hastings and Napier has followed tho receipt by Mr E. L. de Gielgud, UnderSecretary of the International League of Red Cross Societies, of an urgent telegram recalling him to England. Mr de Gielgud was to have arrived at Napier this evening to attend a luncheon at Napier to-morrow, a meeting in the Foresters' Hall, and to address a meeting in Hastings to-morrow, but in view of the receipt of the cablegram these functions have been caneelled. Mr de Gielgud was to have spent a month in' the Dominion inquiring into Red Cross activities. He is a brother of Mr John Gielgud, the English actor, His wife, the former Hungarian actress, Zita Gordon> has accompanied him on his tour, which, before his arrival in New Zealand, included Australia and Japan.
