Lassen pointed out that from the borough boundary to the showgrounds was also a congested area, and a footpath there Was necessary. "I think we shouid kcep out of this/' said the chairraan, Mr F. B. Logan. Mr Tucker: When the amount was set aeide there was no suggestion tbat local bodies shouid pay. It was finally decided to write to tho Highways Board, advising that the work mentioned was desirable and shouid be eonstructod from the funds set aside' for that purpose; also, that a footpath from the Hastings borough boundary to the showgrounds shouid bo included.
