Annual Meeting Decides on Weekly Practices

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. A deeision to hojd weekly practicix was reached at the- annual meeting oi the* Waipukurau Orchestral Society ir St. Andrew's Hall. Mr J. C. Windlt presided. Three new membevs wer elected. The annual report stated that 1practices had been held during the yeai and euggested that practices in futun be more frequent. The finances weri satisfactory, the credit balance beinj £5 16/6. The orchestra had assisted a1 the returned soldiers' re-union and th( smoke concert held by the Machine-gur Troop. It had also played at thc Pukeora Sanatorium. The society 's thanks were due to the exeeutive of thi Waipukurau Returned Soldiers ' Associa tion, the president, Mr J. W. Harding; Mr K. W. Kruger, Mr and Mrs L Donnelly, Mr S. O'Halloran, Waipawa Mr G. E. Fowler, hon. auditor, and the Press, The election of officers resulted:— Pairon, Mr J. W. Harding; conductor; Mr E. Malkin; deputy-con-ductor, Mi J. C. Windle; committee, Messrs L. P, Donnelly, H. S. Cottrell and F. Heaseman; librarians, Messrs L. L. Donnelly and J. Oliver; hon. secretary, Mr A, P. Green; hon. treasurer, Miss M. Sharpin.
