■ » — ■ — - Proposed Toll on Cars A HAVELOCK SUGGESTION A toll on cars passing through the proposed new domain at Clifton on the way to Cape Kidnappers was suggested by Mr O. Toop at the meeting last evening of the Havelock North Town Board when . the board's donation toward the project was under discussion. " Well, , you can put that. idea tio them when the job is finished," replied the chairman, Mr H. R. voh Dadelszen. " I shall, ' ' was Mr Toop's reply. A letter was received by the board frpm the Napier Thirty Thousand Club asking for a donation- of £2: 2/- towards the cost of sollcitor 's expenses in connection with the transfer.- The 'board agreed to contribute this amouht, ;pro1 vided other local bodies- gave proportionateiy. It was pointed out that Mr G. Hush- ^ eer had oifered £100 for the construction of public conyeniences on the domain. Members wef e sympathetic with thc 1 proposal and felt that the proposed improvements would be of value to thc 1 r'esidents of Havelock North. .- J The Havelock Cricket Associatior • was granted the use ; of the ground a1 " Havelock North at a rental for thc . season of £3 3/-, provided the members prepare the wicket for themselves.
