FRENCH—SMITH

Dr. R. I. Sutton, of Napier, a brother-in-law of the bridegroom, played the organ in St. John's Anglican Uhureh, Dannevirke, on Saturday, for the wedding of Cora, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. \V. Smith, of Weber, and Jame3 Watt Small, youngest son of Mr. and the late Mrs. M. French, formerly of Waipukurau. The Rev. G. B. Stephenson performed the ceremony. Mr. G. Harvey, of Waipawa, was best man and Mr. F. Cameron, of Weber, groomsman. The bride wore a frock of heavy cream satin, made on slim fitting lines with an oval shaped train, The sleeves were very full, with rucked shoulders, arxd fitted into tliq wrist with a tiglit culf. A spray of orange blossom was attached at the neckline. The veil, which was of cut billowy tulle, fell from a coronet of tiny sprayg of pearled flowers set high on the head. She carried a bouquet of arum lilies and maiden-hair fern. She was attended by Mrs. J. Mills, of Petone, as uiatron of honour, and Miss Rona Smith, sister, as bridesmaid, botb of whom were frocked in pale pink lace over a deeper shade of satin, made on slender Ijnes. They wore haloes of pleated stiffened tulle and pink velvet flowers, and carried bouquets oi' iceland poppies, ranunculi, freezias aud maiden-hair fern. The briuo's mother wore a black and white ensemble with a smart hat and eye-veil to match, and had a shoulder spray of red and white cyclamens. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a lucky horseshoe by Tony Sutton, nephew of the bridegroom. The bridegroom's presents to the matron of honour and the bridesmaid were handbags. After the ceremony a reception was held and later the young couple, who intend to reside at Waipawa, left on a motor tour in the nortli, the bride wearing a smart navy and white tunic ensemble, with Uut and accessories to mstcfci.
