AMPHIBIAN ALOFT

Interest in Napier Considerable interest wae displaye'd by resident* of Napier this. morning in the flight of the amphibian which is earried on H.M.S. Leander, at present andhored in the roadstead. For some time this morning the plane fiew over the town, and its progress was watched with close interest by most people. Accustomed to the sight of the planes kept in the district, residents were soon aware. that that which flew ' so high above the town was a stranger from the note of the engines, which was considerably deeper than that oi most aeroplanes in the country. When it was later flown law over the town tlie roar of the engines attracted many people from shops and offices, who reniarked the re'd, white and blue cockades on fuselage and wings, and the position of the wings, both bf which are sejj above the body of the- plane.
