CLUB MEMBERS ENJOY AMUSING PLAY-READING
Members o£ the .Hastings Women's Oommunity Club were most amusingly entertained ' yesterday afternoon with an excellent reading of the four-act comedy, "Quinneys," by Horace Annesley .Vachell, which was read by members of the play-reading circle. The cast was not a large one and cach member read her part splendidly, the success of the play being obvious ■ from the laughter of the audience. Those reading were : Miss Helen Ford (Joseph Quinney, a dealer in antiques), Mrs K. E. Crompton (Susan, his wife), Mrs O. C, Moller (Posy, their daughter), Mrs D. H. Hooker (Sam Tomlin), Mrs W. J. White (Oyxus P. Hunsaker), Mrs H, Gilbertson (Duport Jordan), Mrs J. Wright (James, Quinuey's foreinan), Mrs Brunton Williams LVlabel Dredge). An interval was made in between j the acts when a delicious tea was en- i ioved by all. The flowers in the club lounge were arranged with colourful effect, howls oi scarlet rhododendrons, vases of stocks and float bowls of pansies all being much admired. , Those present were : Mrs O. C. Muller, Mrs H. M. Bishop, Mrs H. Gilbertson, Mrs W. J. .White, Mrs Gordon Roach. Mrs W. A. Greer, Mrs Lawlor, E. Tayloi'j Miss Helen Fojd.
