Fat Sheep Offering at Stortford Values for fat sheep 'at Stortford Codge yesterday receded from 3/- to 4/a head from Iato peak price levels A large yarding was offerid, and competition was limited. As the sale progressed values failed to hold to the opening rates. The fxrst shorn ewes of the season were offered on account pf Mr. Eobert Harding, of Kaukawa, which made 30/6 for. a splendid line of coming sistooths. Heavy prime, well-woolled maiden ewes brought 40/-. Other heavy ewes made to 38/- at the opening of the sale, and at a late stage similar ewes made a little over 35/-. Extra good hoggets. realised, 35/-. Spring lambs aiado almost 1/- per lb. The pens wero on the light side, the best not exceeding 281bs. An entry of 15 heavy, prime, wellwoolled ewes sold at 38/7. From the same souTce, a fuxther entry of lighter prime ewes made 33/-. A pen of heavy extra prime Down cross hoggets sold at 35/*. A pen of 12 heavy, extra prime, wellwoolled maiden ewes brought 40/-. An entry of 16 medium to heavy light prime ewes brought 26/6. A bid of 17/- was offered for aged, nnlinished ewes. On account o£ Mr. Eobert Harding, Eaukawa, 20 extra prime heavy coming six-tooth shorn ewes, in splendid condition, sold at 30/6. From the same source, a pen of extra prime heavy shorn four-year ewes brought 30/-, and a pen a year older, and in similar order, sold at 27/6. Two pens of spring lambs, avoraging up to 301b., made 26/- for the tops. On account of Mr. D. J. Holden, Mangateretere, 15 heavy prime ewes, well woolled, brought 35/3. On account of the same vendor, 60 ewes, in similar order and finish, sold in a lino at 34/10.
