The suggestion, which was made by a delegate from the Mosgiel bfiOneh Of the union, was as f ollows— ' 'That local branches be asked to approach city and borough couneils requesting their c0operation in petitioning Piaiiiameiit to extend the powers of policemen, giving them the right to seareh suspected cars in the vicinity of dance h&lls, to confiscat© all liquor found in the cars, and also td arrest the occupants if the worse of liquor." Delegates expressed their unattimous approval of the suggestion and promis-' ed to refer it to the branches they represented.
