The New Zealand Government ha® given asSurances that it will abolish the allowance as soon as Federal arrangements for abolition hae been completed in Australia; and yesterday the sheepowners learned from the Graziers' Association of New South. Wales that abolition legislation would come . into force throughout the Commonwealth on July 1, 1938. Tlie president of the union, Mr E. Hay, said that the New Zealand Goveirniment jhad giiven repeated as'surances that similar supporting legislation would be passedi in the Dominion immediately Austrqlia completed its federal arrangoments. Action in the Dominion was loft to the executive of the IS> r Zealand Sheepowners' Federation, which was requested to act appropriately when final word wa,s received from Australia. It was stated that the abolition of the allowance at present wool prices, would mean a saving of from 3/9 to 4|/- a bale.
