Te Awapuni Meeting
Tlie Te Awapuni Women's Institute held their September meeting Jn tb« Girls' Friendly Society rooms on Wednesday, iMrs. Lindsay Gordon presiding. Aftor repeating . tlie aspiratiun visitors were welcomed and an apology was received from Mrs. Turner Williama. The remits for (Ro balf-yearly council meeting at Greenmeadows were discussed and Mesdames Donovau and Harper were chosen as the dekgates. Tbe afternoon was a social one, and before afternoon tea was served Mrs Lindsay Gordon presented to Mrs. Kauauria (who has recently heen married) a gift of an afternoon tea set, from the members as a token of goodwill. Mrs. Kauauria, to whom the gift oame as a great surprise, tliauked the members for their very kind thoughts. Tlie competition for a prayer mat only brought one entry, Mrs Warena's, the design chosen, "a huia on a Kowhai branch being embroidered in natural colours. The saies table was in aid of federation funds and did good business. Arrangements were made for nest meeting aud after a few musical items the meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
