Driver's Fit of Coughing

MATAMAU, LaSt Night. A fit of- coughing on the part of the driver of a roadster car was the cause of a motor accident on Cemeter/ Hill, Matamau," about 8 o'clock this morning. There were three occupants in the vehicle, Mr. Jim Carr aud his sisters, the Misses Anne and Biddy Carr, who were on their way to work in Dannevirke. Mr. Carr, who Was driving, had recently had a severe attaelc of influonza, this being his first day out following his illness. When on Cemetery Hill he had a sudden attaek of coughing, and before 'he could stop the car its wheels on ono side mounted the bank, with the result that the vehicle toppled over upside down on the roadway. Miss Anne Carr succeeded in helping the others out before the hood completely collapsed. Fortunately none of the passengers received serious injury, but all suffered severe bruising and were also considerably affected by 1 shock. They were motored homo by Messrs. F. Carston and Hansen and Mr. Phillips and several others rendered vhluable help in clearing the roadway. The car, somewhat damaged, was taken to Dannevirke by a breakdown truck for repair.
