AUCKLAND, Last Night. Mission work in the Arctic Circle was described to-day by the Rev, Father M. Sweeney, O.I.M., • who is a through passenger by the Aorangi. Having visited India, Ceylon^ and Australia, he is now travelling to Canada. He hopes to cross into the Arctic Circle, where a band of fathers is working among the Eskimos from Alaska to Greenland. Aeroplanes are being used in the Arctic, an international organisatiou liaving been formed to supply. means of transport, including planes, trucks and motor-boats, to the missionary world.
