{Ry Teleprur'i
CHRISTCHURCH, Lasfc Night. The Canterbury soccer representatives retained the Football Association trophy in a 3 — 3 draw with Auckland at English Park on Saturday. The expectations that Canterbury would have the hardest game of the season were amply fuMlled, the northerners fully doserving to shaTe the honours. Their forwards were superior to those of elther Otago or Wellington, ■previous challcngers, who liad been soundly beaten this year. Balaclde, the outside right, and Parnau, mside left, were purticularly clever. Stone, the Auckland right back, also gave a fine display. Once more Canterbury gave an even all-round performance and Wilson, a newcomer to the side at right haif, fully justiiied his inclusion. The ground and weather were splendid even if more suited to crickst than , to football and there was a large attendance. In the first spell goals were scoredi for Canterbury by G. Smith (two) and for Auckland by Parnan. At halftime Canterbury were two and Auckland oue. In the second spell the scorer for Canterbury was Burnand and for Auckland Farnan and Angus scored, the final tally being 3-all» _ .
