Watersiders to be Advised to Resume FEDERATION'S DECISI0N

WELLINGTUN, Last JNight. The difficulties which arose last week through) the refusal of the waterside workers to handle cargo for Japanese ships were settled following a long conferenee on Saturday between the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. M J. Savage, members of Cabinet and representatives of the Federation of Labour. "The Federation of Labour and the Waterside Workes' Union have agreed advise their affiliated bodies t^o work the ships," Mr. SaVage said in an official statement to-night. "The ordinary channels of trade will remain open." The Prime Minister was unable to comment on the position in furthor detail. However, it is known that the Government took an extremely serious view of the situation and the conferenee in the Prime Minisfbr's room in Parliament Buildings lasted nearly three hours.
