Judgment Affectmg Native Lands At the Native Land Court, Hastings, Judge Harvey yesterday delivered juUgment in the claini for compensation to Native owners for the taking of land by the Hawke's Bay Rivers Board for purposes of diverting 'the Tutaekuri river 'through the Waiohiki blocks, awarding compensation to owners amounting to a total of £2951, with costs and witnesses' • expenses amopnting to £63. This decision .is, in the meantime. open to appeal to the Native . Appellate Court should the parties deeide. to take this step.. Mr A, E. Lawry appeared for the Native owners, and Mr L.,W. Willis for the Hawke 's Bay Rivers, Board.
