WOMEN'S INSTITUTES

The monthly meeting of the Ashley Clinton Women 's Institute took place on Thursday, Miss Wilson presiding. The meeting took the form of a bulb show. There was a colourful display of blooms. A demonstration was given on wood-fibro work. The demonstrators, Mrs Sehwahe and Mrs McKay, of Norsewood, were given a hearty vote of thanks. The results of the flower competitions were: — ^Best collection of bulbs: Mrs C. Thomsen 1, Mrs Walwin 2. Bestarranged bulbji: Mrs Waldin 1, Mrs Britton 2. Mra F. Thomsen was thanked for coming to judge and for exhibiting her prize bulbs. Afternoon tea was served by the hostcsses for the day, Mesdames Burgess and Dampney. The points prize for champion bulb went to Miss Dampney.
