Announcing their programmes for 1937-38, the Big Three German fil'm companies — Tobis, IJfa, and Terra — promise release of over one hundred fuJl-length iilms. A few of them will be made abroad — in Vienna, Rome, Paris, and the TTnited State. Willi Eorst will direct "The Firsi Wife," adapted from a Theodore Storm novel, and "Bel Ami" by Guy de Maupassant. Turning to the musical side, there will be screen versions of Johann Stauss's "The Bat" and Lehar's "Tho land of JLaughter. " Marta Eggertli and Jau Kiepura, her husband, both great favourites in Germany, will sing m Lehar's operetta. Benjamin Gigli and Michael Bohnen will oembine .torees fe.
