WATER COLOURS EXHIBITION
Cranleigh Barton's Works An iutereeting colleetion of wqtercolours is on view at Colleen's, Hastings. Mr. Barton has just returned i'rom a two years' visit to Europe, and his pictures mclude Loudon acenes, a series of Continental subjects and the Channel lslands. Mr. Barton has had several one-man exhibitions in London, at one of which Queen Mary bought two of his pictures. Learning much of his tecbnique at the London .Slade School, his work is nevertbcless not of the modern school, bnt tho sound and delicat© drawing, the sensitive colouring and the subtle atmosphere have a cliarm which appealt to the refined taste. Some of tlie London scenes, with the soft Enprlish atmosphere and the sketches of Constantinople and Atliens, will at once take the visitor'h e.ve.
