Sir, — There will never be peace, as long as the average "John Citizen"- or "Farmer Hayseed" is more of a pagan than a Christian., The average "John Citizen" seems to be very sentimental and cowardly, but very pugnacious and quick-tempered . as far as the honour and prestige of his country is coneerned. After all, animal courage, though vastly inf erior to moral courage, ,is better than no courage at all. — Yours^ etc.,
