Mishap to Car

"MOTORIST."

Sir, — Your Teport in Monday^'s paper of a mishap to a motor-car on the Wairakei-Oruanui road was correct. When I arrived at a sharp bend in the road at" about 9.30 p.m. the car was xesting on its sidej the rear near side wheel was about level, with the road. One man was cutting a clump of serub with an axe to allow the car to be hauled back on to the road. The road was about ,30 feet wide." I can briug at least seven witnesses to verify this statement. — Yours. etc..

Sept. 28, 1937. [This letter was referred to one oi those coneerned in the mishap who explains that in, negotiating the bend in question the car went a little wide, causing the off -side wheels to go down sufficiently to caiise the differential of the car to ground which prevented the vehicle, which is a heavy model. -from gefting out of this position unaided -- Editor.]
