Waipukurau Band's Dance. The dance hela by the Waipukurau Municipal Banci in the Masonio Hall — the last of the weekly series — attracted a large number of dapcers. Music was provided by the usual orchestra, and Mr C. Watson was M.(p. Extras were played by Mr D. Taylor, Mr Fleming and Mrs Lovatt. Supper was in the hands of Mesdames E. R. Perkins, F. Watson, T. Walker, Lovatt and J. Ralph. During the evening presenta.tions were made to.Miss M. King (of-, hcial accompaniste) und Mrs Lovatt (assistant musician), for their services at the dances. Balloons and streamers were released in oolourful profusion at the end of the evening. Wairoa Card Part!es» Tlie Frasertown braucli of the Now Zealand Labour Party 's first social gathering. held recently, was both socially and financially a success. Cards and dancing were the main items, Tho priv.e winners wero : Grand prize, Mrs A. H. H. Unwin; cards, Mrs H. M. Robertson and Mr P. Mallon. The Klick Klack Orchestra provided music and Mr R. Buckingham was M.C. Owing to illness, the piresident of the branch, Mr P. J. O'Kane, was unahlo to attend, Tho euchre party at the Queen street Euchre Hai] on Friday night was again well attended. The winners of the competitions were: Women, Miss A. Osier 1, Mrs Crarer 2. Men, Nlr .H. Goodley 1, Mrs R-. Corbett 2. Special, Mr Jolm Adam. The hostesses were Mesdames H. Couper and W. Ci-am and Miss W. Orarer. Ormondville Croquet C|ub Formed. A special meeting of the Ormondville Women's lnstitute was held in tlie Peace Memorial Hall, Mrs H. R. Benbew presiding, to discuss the or"ganisation of a croquet clut\. All the members present being strong ly in favour, a rcsolutigu was passed that a croquet club be formed, to be known as tho Ormondville. Croquet Club, The secretary is to approach the Domam Board witli a view to obtaining ground for a croquet greeu. It was agreed that a series of euchre parties be held to provide funds to assist in defraying tlie preliminary expenses or the new club, these parties to follow upon the fconclusion of tho school euchre parties, and to bo held each Saturday night. Non-mcmbers of the institute wili bo welcomed as members of the croquet club. .
