NEW GISBORNE SCHOOL
Site {or £40,000 Building Proposed sites for new school building work in Gisborne at a cost of between £40,000 ajnd £50,000 were inspected on Friday by members of the Hawke's Bay Education Board. This expenditure will include th e intermediate school which, it is hoped, will be erected next year, and the new infant school to be constructed ■ on the site beliind the dental . clinic, Tliose in the party making the inspection were Mr G. A. Maddison, cliairman of the board, Messrs E.. H. Balcer, T. A. Coloman and ■ J. C. Wauc'liop, members, and W. L. Dunn, secretary, and also members of the school eommittees eoncemed. An area of 27 aores on ihe eastern side of the Oval was on ofi'er, but it was too big for school purposes. It was hoped that the Housing Department would take a por tion of the land, but no reply had iceji received yet from that departit.
