(Received 27, 8.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 25. Stocks suffered losses of from one to six points in heavy selling, many leading issues bringing the lowest prices for two years. A London message reports: Wall Street's latest break came as an un* pleasant shock to those who believed tbat the steadier tonc in London marked the end of liquidation. City business men are bewildered at New York's behaviour, as there have been no political or trade developments to account for so sharp a plunge. Satisfactory dividend announcements caused a sharp improvement in industrials during the mid-week. Gilt-edged remained firm, but cornmodities, apart from wheat, made a poor showing. Metals broke eharpfy at the end of the week, owing to the reluctance of American consumcrs to operate. Eub'oer was quiet for the same reason.
