China Must Change Her Attitude (Received 27, 8.45 a.m.) PEIPING, Sept. 26. The Japanese spokesman stated to-day that, though it was early to talk of thi> possibility of peace, Japan would wel come a change in the situation enabling a halt in the Iiostilities. Everything, the spokesman added, dependod on the Chinese abandoning their anti-Japanese policy. China should reflect that her best tTOops had been defeated at Paotingfu and Tsangchow, and that her position in North China had been soriously weakoned.
