B.M.S. CHORAL GROUP HOLDS "MODERN" EVENING

The choral group of the Central Hawke's Bay braneh of the British Music Society met at the residence of Mrs W. J. Gray, Jellicoe street, Waipukurau, on Friday evening, when the following programmo devoted to the works of modern composers was presented: — 4 ' Arise, O Sun" (Crashe) and "My Dear Sonl" (Sanderson), Mrs W. Hopkinson; ' ' Baby Moon" and "The Four Leaf Clover" (Chas. Willeby), Mrs P. A. Riddle; "The Net Mender" (Coningsby Clarke) and "Don't Como in Sir, Please" (Cynl Scott), Mrs D. II. Clark; "An Epitaph" (Maurice Bisley) and "Two Little Stars" (Stanford), Mrs J. L. Braithwaite; "Trees" (Easbach), Mrs W. Gray; '.'The Monkey's Carol" and "Little Snowdrop" (Stanford), Mrs P. C. Anderson; "See Lovo I Bring Tliee Flowers" (Lambert) and> "Courage" (Haydn Wood), Mrs E. G. Dowrick; "A Soft Day" (Stanford) and "The Dande•lion" (Dunhill), Miss H. Johnston. Those present were: Mesdames P. C. Anderson, P. A. Riddle, F. Y. Ward, J. L. Braithwaite, W. Hopkinson, D. 1L Clark, H. Cottrell, E. G. Dowrick, Misses K. Riddle and H. Johnston.
