Verdict of Suicide on Norsewood Man

DANNEVIRKE, Last NigTit. At the inquest into the death of Mr Harold Belmont Iggulden, of Norsewood, a returned soidier, aged 53, who was found hanging in a hay-shed on a farm he was managing at Norsewood, a verdict of suicide while in a state of mental depression was returned. Clara Rangdi Iggulden, wife of the deceased, said that she last saw her fiusband alive on Thursday at about 2.30 o'clock when he said'he was going round the sheep. He then appeared to be in his usu^L state of health, although he was never strong. He was engaged as manager on a farm owned by Mr Frank Rawsthorn, who left in March last on a visit tq England. He was reentiy in hospital, having been disharged on SSeptember 10. Constable Eyan; At no time did your husband give any indiation that he might take his life? — No. The coroner; Has he complained about his health/ or''seemed depressed or financially worried? — No. There were only the two of us. He had brought up four children belongmg to his brother, who had been kilied xn a railway smash at Te Aute. A note was produced and identified as in the handwriting of the deceased. The note stated: "I can't go on any longcr. Ern won't have me with him. My darling, forgive me. I cannot help it."
