New Waipawa Links A stableford bogey was piayed on Wednesday afternoon by tlie Waipawa Goli' Club for a trophy presented by the club secretary, -the result being a^jbie between Bryaiit, Bishop and Surridg'e, who returned cards of 34. A play-off resulted in a victory for Surridge. A stroke round in conjunction with the above resulted in a win for Edwards with a card of 72. The best oards were as follow : — Edwaids 72, Bryant 76, Surridge 76, Bishop 78, Walker 78, Shackleford 78, Dwight 81, Knobloch 81, Clark 81 j Mitchell 81. A well-attended meeting was held last evening in the Borough Council " Chambers to consider further the 'question of ohanging over to new links those present being very enthusiastio " regarding the proptjsed chatige. Messrs Tickner, Strang and Edwards Were deputed to interview Mr Kittow tb investigate further the propoeal, and to report back to an. early meet- . ing of the committee. The club is to make application to become an incor■porated society. ._ Tbe closing day for the 1937 season is to he held on October 10 when it ife anticipated a large number of members and visitors fi-om other olubs Will be present. The closing will he of a tournameht nature, etroke rounds during the morning, and mixed foursomes during the afternoon players tb arrange for pai-tners., The entry fee for all events will be 3/6 which will include lunch and afternoon tea. An entry fee of 1/6 will be charged those desii'ing to take part in the foursomes Ohly. Play will commence at 9 a.m. sharp. t Several members will be proceeding to Porangahau this week-end to take part in*the olub's annual tournament. Any members desiring to make the trip are requested to advise the secretary jmrnediately.
