WAIPUKURAU, Last Night.. At tliis Week;B ineeting of the execu* tive and finance conlmittee of the Waipukurau A. and P. Association Mr E. C. Nation presided over Messrs B. p. Wilder, L. R. Grant, G. L. Gi'opks, C. R. Watson, L. C. Harker and -the secretary (Mr G. Reg. Cook). Apologies were received .from Messrs J. I>. Ormond, jnr., and I. W. N. Mackie. A reyuest from Mr R. L. Bennett that he be given the licensed booth at the 1938 show for the sarae price as last year and R siinilar request l'roin Mr J. Scarrott ih conneCtion with the liincheon booth and ice-cre&m rights were granted. The following donations were received, and the secretary was asked to . write expressing the associatioh's apfT preciatioh: — Williams and Kettle £2 2/-, Dalgety and Co., Ltd. £2 2/-, Loan and Mei'cantile £2 2/-, Murray, Rojberts £2 2/-, National Moftgage £2 2/-, Harding £2 2/-, J. Winlove and Son £2 2/-, Allan M. Wiliiams £2 2/-, T. E. Wheleh £2 2/-, Duncan Holden £1 10/-, John Wilson £1 1/-, I. W. N. Mackie £1 1/-, Kempthorne Prosser and Co. half-ton super, Fayotte E. Pluxnb Axe Co. two racing axes, Kelly Axe Co. one racing axe, H. B. Roach trophy sanatoriuin section, Thos. Borthwick and Sons miniature .cup, Central Hawke-S Bay Pbwer Board £3 3/-. The resignations of Messrs A. Annand, 0. H. Hedge and C. Fraser ' were received with regret. Payment of accouhts totalling £110 18/8 ih connedtioh With the previous year was confirmed and further accounts totalling £43 18/4 in cbnnection with the. chrrent year were passed for payment. The following amounts, inclusive of donations, are to be made available for the Various sections at the 1938 show: — Horse section £87, sheep section £33, wool section £6 10/-, dog trials section £17, axemen's section £125, national dancing section £20, boxing section £5 10/-, induetrial section £32, school section £4j a total of £330. The matter of a graht to the publicity COnimittee Was left in abeyance uhtil the committee meets and then makes application for ainoiint roquirfd. In the weight-jiidging events it was decided to include three fat lambs, three fat sheep and a fat Cow, committee members volhnteering either to donate or socure the stock. It was decided to make arrangements for a publiC-address system and lines of communication botween the announcing room and the various rings simiiar to those in use last year. Mr L." R. Grant reported havir t had a £8 3/- trophy donate d for the juUging eompotition. Mr C. L. Crooks reported having been off ered a challenge cup for the axemen 'n section, and also offered to renew his trophy for this section as last year. Mr E. 0. Nation offel'ed a challenge cup for a Sandy Hunters competition to be won three times.
