HAWKE'S, BAY SPRING SHOW

The Horse Section . One of the most important sections of tbe Hawlce's Bay Spring Show, and to the public one of the most popular sections, is tbe horse section. The classes for thoroughbreds have, through lack of support, disappeared from the schedule, but Clydesdales, workixig drauglxts. harness horses and kamess ponies, and saddle horses and saddle ponies, are all catered for with a number of classes, and in addition to championships a large number of valuable trophies are provided for competition in this section. offered. For the saddle horse section, Mrs T. V. Morrin's shield for champion hack and Mr T. Parker's challenge cup for lady's hack are for competition. The whole of tbe horse section, too, is included in the competition for the East Coast Challenge Cup for most pojnts in horses, cattle, sheep and pigs, open only to exhibitors north of the Mohaka river and including the Wairoa and Poverty Bay districts. Entries for all classes close on Wednesday, September 29, at the Society's oliice, Ohurch Lane, Napier, or at the office of Mr F. C. Wilkinson, Queen street, Hastings.
