Education Board Chairman Inspects Schools The chairman of the Hawke's Bay Education Board, Mr G. A. Maddison, aceompamech by Mr W. L. Dunn, seeretary to tlie board, passed tlirough Gisborne on Monday en route to tlie East Coast, where he is making inspections of various schools. The Makarika, Ruatoria, Waipiro Bay and Te Puia schools were included in the itinerary for yesterday, and last night Messrs Maddison and Dunn mc»b the committee of Te Puia School to discuss improvements to the school and grounds. Tlioy will also meet the Waiapi! Hospital. Board to deal with a proposed exchange of land with that body. To-day the Education Board re:>resentatives are inspecting Tokomaru Ray and Tolagia Bay schools and a'hools in the towu area of Gisborne. )n Thursday they are to visit a number of schools in the Poverty Bay disLricfc, including- those at Motu, Motuhora and Matawai, and will deal with the proposed oonsolidation of the Mu tuhorA aad Motu iohool».
