TWO PEATUEES TO-NIGHT, A thrill-packed melodrama. of flytag aces, forejgn spies'and modern romanee, "Crack-up," the Twientietlj CenturyFox picture which screens at the State Theatre to-night, ia pulse-quickening entertamment that keeps spectators on the. edges of their seats, with its fastr action and suspense, righit up to the exciting surprise elimax. In ' 'CrackUp," Peter Lorre is the chief of a spy organisation in America,, and Briax. Denlevy is the country's most daring ace, who becomes the tool of Loore. Other featured players in the aast are Heien Wood, Ralph Mo'rgan and " 1'homas Beck, Bright with the romanee and ad venture of Califor.nia's most glamorous era, Bret Harte's immortal "The Qutcast of Poker Flat" is the second feature on the programme. Preston Foster and Jean Muir are the featured players. The drama and suspepse of the original story, perhaps the best known of all Harte 's tales, arises out of the romanee of the principal character, Oakhurst tha gambler, with a pretty school teacher who is also loved by a young minister, and the mutual interest of all three in- a waif of the frontier mining camp.
